Mirema School is a Christian-based primary school established in 1997. We offer the 2.6.6.3/8.4.4 curriculum, the International British Curriculum, and a Special Needs Curriculum. We are currently seeking a qualified Playgroup and Reception Teacher to facilitate early childhood learning through play-based and interactive teaching methods, while nurturing the spiritual, emotional, and academic development of young learners.
Responsibilities
Cater to and enhance the precise needs and learning styles of each learner.
Develop and follow schemes of work prepared as per school requirements.
Assist the curriculum coordinator in the organization of the specific subject curriculum.
Prepare medium and short-term plans in conjunction with other subject members to ensure curriculum adherence.
Teach lessons at the times stipulated on the school timetable.
Maintain order and good discipline among learners during class time.
Ensure sound class control and monitor discipline during subject lessons.
Set and mark classwork and homework.
Provide a stimulating and conducive working environment in the classroom.
Plan, prepare, and present lessons that cater to various learner abilities and ranges.
Requirements and Qualifications
Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECDE).
At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience.
Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Must possess a valid certificate of good conduct.
Skills and Attributes
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
First aid training.
Childcare skills.
Computer literacy.
