Plant Operator

Main Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the plant during the shift according to company policies and procedures.
• Maintain plant power production at the output designated by management and operate within the acceptable loading envelope under utility dispatch directives.
• Assist in start-up, shut-down, and normal operations of the power plant systems.
• Complete and maintain all logs and running records in a clear and concise manner according to guidelines.
• Take corrective action during system operational disturbances and/or notify the Shift Supervisor.
• Communicate the condition of plant equipment and performance effectively to shift charge and fellow personnel.
• Maintain the plant in a clean and safe condition at all times.
• Perform emergency procedures to protect personnel and equipment in case of damage or safety failure.
• Utilize all tools, equipment, and accessories in a manner that maximizes their operating life.
• Assist in ensuring safe and efficient operation by reporting violations to the Shift Supervisor or duty manager.
• Provide a complete handover to the relieving shift operator regarding disturbances, malfunctions, or abnormalities.
• Perform planned and corrective maintenance as directed and account for all parts, materials, supplies, and fluids used.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the superior.

Requirements

• BSc or Degree in Engineering (B.Eng) or Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Hands-on working experience with power plant engines.
