Reporting to the Logistics Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a backhoe excavator to perform excavation, trenching, grading, lifting, and material handling tasks on construction and infrastructure projects. The operator ensures work is completed according to project specifications, safety standards, and schedules.
Operational Responsibilities
Operate backhoe excavator to dig trenches, foundations, and holes.
Perform grading, backfilling, and material loading/unloading.
Read and interpret site plans, drawings, and grade stakes.
Ensure safe operation around underground utilities, structures, and personnel.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, spotters, and ground crews.
Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Report equipment issues, hazards, or incidents promptly.
Assist with general site duties as required when not operating equipment.
Key Qualifications and Experience
Form 4 Certificate, minimum grade D+.
Valid driving license (Classes B, C1, and C).
Valid heavy equipment operator certification or license (Class G).
At least 5 years of relevant plant operation experience.

Terms of Employment
The appointment will be for a contract term of 3 YEARS renewable subject to satisfactory performance evidenced by continuous achievement of performance targets.
