Job Description
Sheer Logic Management Consultants (SLMC) is seeking a Payroll Officer. Incorporated in 1997, SLMC provides Human Resource consultancy and training services across various industries in both the private and public sectors. The Payroll Officer will be responsible for the end-to-end preparation and processing of payroll data for client service employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective maintenance of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
Prepare and process payroll data for Sheer Logic Management Consultants (client service) employees.
Review and ensure the accuracy of all payroll-related data.
Track and reconcile payroll details received against system data.
Verify data entered into the system by documentation officers.
Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, and Account Managers to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
Correct past system errors using original source documentation (National ID, NSSF, SHA, and KRA PIN numbers).
Administer electronic data transfers to ensure validity and accuracy, specifically using KRA PIN checkers.
Distribute electronic pay advice slips on a monthly and ad hoc basis.
Establish and maintain electronic employee records, ensuring timely and correct updates.
Add new employees to the payroll system and upload bank/membership details.
Develop, design, and maintain security codes and HRIS database quality.
Act as the primary contact for resolving HR system queries and issues.
Back Office Support
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes through system changes.
Provide HRIS technical and operational support to company staff.
Maintain the accuracy of HR systems, including data quality audits for leave, contractual status, and terminations.
Compile and process statutory deductions for SHA, PAYE, and NSSF.
Prepare payment schedules and submit statutory obligations online.
Remit SHA and NSSF payments and handle related queries from Account Managers.
Perform other Human Resource assignments as required.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Information Technology.
At least five (5) years of experience in a Payroll Administration environment.
Proven experience in data analysis with high accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent listening and presentation skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
