Reeds Africa Consult (RAC) is a professional Human Resource services firm providing comprehensive support for the employee life cycle. We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to manage end-to-end payroll processes for our diverse clientele.
Role Overview
The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with all Kenyan labor laws and statutory requirements. This role serves as a critical link between the firm and its clients regarding payroll integrity and reporting.
Responsibilities
Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll for multiple clients accurately and within set timelines.
Review & Verification: Audit payroll inputs including overtime, bonuses, benefits, and adjustments to ensure accuracy.
Statutory Compliance: Calculate and file all relevant statutory deductions including PAYE, NSSF, SHA (formerly NHIF), NITA, Housing Levy, and other applicable government levies.
Tax Filing: Prepare and submit payroll returns through the KRA iTax portal.
Data Management: Maintain high standards of payroll data integrity and secure physical/digital records.
Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, resolving payroll-related queries promptly.
Reporting: Generate payroll summaries and periodic reports for client review and internal management.
Audit Support: Provide documentation and support for payroll audits and reconciliations while upholding strict confidentiality.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
Professional Certification: CPA or ACCA qualification is required.
Experience: 3–5 years of relevant payroll experience, with preference given to candidates from professional services or consulting backgrounds.
Technical Knowledge: Strong command of Kenyan payroll laws and statutory compliance standards.
Soft Skills: High attention to detail and excellent communication skills for client interaction.
