Job Description
Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) is a leading National Referral Hospital with a 650-bed capacity, providing specialized medical services including Oncology, Trauma, Orthopedics, and Renal care. The hospital is seeking a Part-time Tutor for its training institute specializing in Nephrology Nursing.
Role Purpose
The primary objective of this role is to deliver high-quality teaching and assessment through lectures, seminars, and supervision. The tutor provides academic leadership in curriculum development, student evaluation, and learning strategies to support student success and advance the Institute’s academic goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality teaching and examination of courses through lectures, seminars, and student supervision.
Provide leadership in the development of syllabuses, learning resources, marking policies, and assessment strategies.
Deliver lectures and monitor student progress throughout the training period.
Provide support and advice to students to facilitate academic excellence.
Evaluate academic progress, record findings, and implement action plans where necessary.
Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders and maintain professional communication.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the leadership.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BScN) or its equivalent from an institution recognized by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Higher Diploma in Nephrology Nursing from an institution recognized by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
A Master's degree in Nursing is an added advantage.
At least three (3) years of professional work experience specifically in Nephrology Nursing.
Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya with a valid practice license.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Must be compliant with Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
