Job Description
The Open University of Kenya aims to address the pressing issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. By leveraging technology and flexible learning modes, the university seeks to accommodate a larger number of qualified students, enabling them to access quality education.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver online lectures and support students in the fields of Media, Communication, and Design Technologies.
Handle digital learning content and utilize online learning management systems effectively.
Guide, mentor, and support students through distance learning methodologies.
Prepare, review, and grade course materials, assignments, and examinations.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
Education & Experience:
An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited University; OR
A Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University (in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level and registered in good standing for a Ph.D. in the relevant field.
Technical Skills:
Must be computer literate with the ability to handle digital content.
An updated CV (to include full academic details, professional qualifications, and experience, membership with professional bodies, names and addresses of three referees)
