The Outdoor Sales Representative will be responsible for achieving sales volume and value targets, driving market share, and activating targeted accounts. The role involves trade and channel development, as well as managing and servicing existing outlets while prospecting and developing new accounts with a focus on building long-term customer relationships and increasing sales revenue.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve set secondary sales targets (volume and value) by strictly adhering to set journey plans to deliver maximum distribution of products at the retail end.
Ensure quality execution of the sales drivers: availability, affordability, accessibility, and activation.
Ensure distribution is achieved in assigned territory through achieving set customer call rate coverage targets, number of new outlets, as well as expansion of portfolio availability.
Execute up-selling (value brands) and cross-selling of the portfolio while building standard stock cover.
Identify, negotiate, plan, and execute activation opportunities such as promotions and tastings in line with the territory sales plan.
Pro-actively manage the cash and credit resources of customers to drive growth for brands in terms of volume and value.
Monitor and manage company assets such as vehicles within established policies to ensure optimal use.
Receive, follow up, and resolve all customer queries and complaints in collaboration with the customer service team.
Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports to the territory manager to facilitate proper planning.
Gather and communicate market intelligence to management to enhance business performance.
Maintain merchandising objectives for both cold and ambient spaces.
Skills and Qualifications
Education: A minimum degree in Sales & Marketing (strictly Sales & Marketing) from a reputable institution.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience, preferably handling electronics (e.g., TVs, Hoofers, microwaves, kettles, heaters).
Technical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems; proficiency in customer relationship management.
Soft Skills: Ability to work in an extremely high-pressure, high-accountability environment.
Driving: 2 years of driving experience with a valid license is a strong added advantage.
Geography: Must be well conversant with Nairobi and its environs.
Availability: Immediate availability is preferred.
