Job Description
The County Government of Kirinyaga is seeking to recruit a qualified Orthopedic Surgeon to provide specialized medical services within the county health facilities. The role involves diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating patients with musculoskeletal issues, as well as performing complex surgeries and managing specialized clinics.
Responsibilities
Undertake general diagnosis, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients.
Carry out specialized clinic care and provide specialized clinical services.
Train, consult, and perform orthopedic surgeries in various health facilities.
Provide forensic and medico-legal services.
Coordinate disease surveillance, prevention, and control initiatives.
Lead health education and promotion programs.
Implement and monitor health projects and programmes within the county.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date health information systems.
Monitor the provision of health treatment and care to ensure standards are met.
Undertake health research and analyze medical reports to improve service delivery.
Job Requirements
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
Master’s degree in Orthopedic Surgery.
Certificate of registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.
Mandatory Clearances for Successful Candidates

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC)
Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Certificate of Good Conduct)
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
