Operations Pharmaceutical Technologist
Role Summary
The Operations Pharmaceutical Technologist oversees compliant pharmaceutical warehouse operations, emphasizing cold chain management, regulatory adherence, and inspection preparedness in line with PPB (Pharmacy and Poisons Board) and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage the handling, storage, and movement of pharmaceutical products across ambient, chilled (2–8°C), and frozen storage zones.
- Monitor temperature and humidity using validated systems, and promptly document and escalate any temperature excursions.
- Support cold chain integrity throughout inbound, outbound, and staging operations.
- Ensure full compliance with PPB, GDP, GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and internal SOPs.
- Maintain continuous inspection readiness and actively participate in PPB and client audits, inspections, and CAPA follow-ups.
- Ensure proper segregation and control of quarantined, rejected, expired, recalled, and damaged products.
- Support bonded operations, customs documentation, and controlled inventory management.
- Ensure segregation of customs-controlled stock and assist with reconciliation of physical, system, and bonded records.
- Enforce FEFO/FIFO principles and ensure batch and expiry data accuracy within WMS/ERP systems.
- Support cycle counts, stock takes, discrepancy investigations, and near-expiry stock management activities.
- Maintain accurate records, including GRNs, delivery notes, temperature logs, cleaning records, and deviation reports.
- Ensure documentation complies with ALCOA+ principles and support document control processes.
- Support onboarding and refresher training for warehouse personnel on pharmaceutical handling and cold chain requirements.
- Serve as a technical reference for pharmaceutical-related operational matters.
- Ensure departmental activities align with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to address them.
- Adhere to and enforce health and safety policies and procedures.
- Identify workplace hazards and implement preventive measures to reduce risk.
- Promote a strong safety culture and participate in the continuous improvement of the company’s health and safety management system.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology.
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- 3-5 years’ relevant experience in warehousing, cold chain, or a regulated logistics environment.
