The Operations Assistant will act as the right hand to the COO. In this role, you will work on projects and tasks within each of the departments, receiving guidance and mentorship directly from the COO. The primary objective is to ensure effective, efficient, and compliant operations that support the company’s goals of reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and improving quality across all six departments. This role is continuously evolving and requires an adaptive professional who excels with diverse tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Project Ownership: Receive instructions and guidance from the COO to execute and own small, medium, and large-sized projects across the company.
Operational Analysis: Evaluate the use of casual labor at the factory and consider new or different equipment to improve overall efficiency.
Process Improvement: Review and enhance customer-facing documents and training materials.
Logistics & Sourcing: Conduct field visits to identify areas for improvement in sourcing and logistics operations.
Technology Management: Ensure that company technology is being properly utilized and maximized for efficiency.
Monitoring & Compliance: Perform operational checks on major company initiatives and shadow the COO to ensure follow-up tasks are completed on schedule.
Innovation: Consistently identify opportunities for increased efficiencies, improved quality, and reduced waste.
Collaboration: Work and communicate collaboratively with each major department to ensure effective operations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND).
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience succeeding in a fast-paced environment, with a proven track record of project or departmental ownership.
Data Literacy: Advanced Excel skills with the ability to use data to find trends and make informed decisions.
Project Management: Familiarity with project management principles; specific PM experience is a plus.
Communication: Bilingual proficiency, fluent in both Kiswahili and English.
Personal Attributes: Versatile, flexible, well-organized, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Mindset: A quick learner, proactive, creative problem solver, and highly ambitious with a desire to learn and contribute to the company's growth.
