Role Overview
I&M Bank is seeking an Officer, Product Management to support the Product Manager in the strategy and delivery of digital payment and liability products. The primary goal of this role is to enhance customer experience, drive adoption, and contribute to the Bank’s digital revenue growth. You will focus on building scalable, customer-centric payment solutions covering retail, SME, and corporate segments, ensuring innovation, efficiency, and compliance across the entire product lifecycle while aligning with the Bank’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Roadmap
- Match clients' needs with product capabilities through tailored demonstrations and proposals on payment and liability products.
- Translate the product vision and roadmap for payments (Card, wallets, transfers, collections, and disbursements) and deposits into a detailed product backlog and delivery plan.
- Define and evolve the product vision and roadmap based on user feedback, market analysis, and operational insights.
- Prioritize backlog items to ensure alignment with roadmap and sprint goals.
Product Development and Execution
- Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management from ideation to launch, scaling, and optimization.
- Collaborate with technology, operations, and design teams to deliver robust and user-friendly payment solutions.
- Oversee technical and operational readiness for new products, including integration, switching, settlement, and reconciliation processes.
- Track performance against agreed KPIs and ensure timely delivery.
Commercial Ownership and Go-to-Market
- Own the product backlog and ensure clear product papers and prioritization in the assigned portfolio.
- Coordinate with Product Owners (PO), Quality Assurance (QA), and business stakeholders in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Ensure product requirements are well-defined, testable, and meet acceptance criteria before delivery.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and development teams.
Performance, Compliance, and Risk Management
- Monitor product KPIs (transaction success rate, uptime, fee income, customer satisfaction) and provide insights for improvement.
- Ensure product features meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Incorporate controls into product functionality to mitigate operational and fraud risks.
- Work closely with Risk and Compliance teams to adhere to internal governance and payment regulations.
Leadership and Partnerships
- Facilitate collaboration between business stakeholders and product teams to foster a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Provide product awareness and knowledge support to cross-functional teams.
- Support integration initiatives with external partners, including key payment partners and fintechs, to strengthen the bank’s ecosystem.
Qualifications and Experience
- Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or additional certifications in Product Management or Fintech is a plus.
- Professional Certifications: Relevant certification in Digital Banking, Product Management, or Agile/Scrum is an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in product management within payments, mobile money, or digital banking.
- Proven Track Record: Experience in launching and managing successful payment or liability products and managing P&L.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of payment ecosystems, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements in digital banking.
