Role Overview
This is an entry and training grade for the Nutrition and Dietetics Technologist cadre within the Narok County Government. An officer at this level will work under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer, focusing on implementing nutrition programs and providing essential nutrition services within healthcare facilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Nutrition Services: Implementing nutrition programmes and providing nutrition services in healthcare facilities.
Assessments & Counseling: Conducting nutrition assessments and providing counseling to patients with specific nutritional needs.
Data Management: Collecting and compiling nutrition data for monitoring and evaluation.
Health Education: Providing nutrition health education and demonstrations to patients and the community.
Feeding Programs: Monitoring the preparation of therapeutic feeds and implementing both outpatient and inpatient supplementary and therapeutic feeding programmes.
Maternal & Child Health: Promoting maternal, infant, and young children feeding programmes.
Supplements: Providing micronutrient supplementation as required.
Requirements for Appointment
Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized training institution.
A registration certificate from the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI).
A valid practicing license from the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI).
Certificate in computer application skills (will be an added advantage).
