The Neurosurgeon at Machakos County Public Service Board will be responsible for performing complex and advanced clinical patient management within the specialty of Neurosurgery. This role involves a combination of high-level clinical practice, mentorship of health personnel, and administrative oversight of healthcare facilities to ensure the delivery of quality medical services.
Responsibilities
Perform complex and advanced clinical patient management in the area of specialization (Neurosurgery) or other recognized specialties.
Coordinate the training, coaching, and mentoring of health personnel.
Manage health stores, including essential medicines, plants, and equipment.
Provide management for larger healthcare facilities or hospitals.
Develop intervention activities and programs for the management of specific diseases and conditions.
Formulate medical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols.
Develop training curricula and syllabi in collaboration with relevant training institutions.
Coordinate emergency response activities and clinical care.
Oversee and coordinate health projects and programmes.
Manage health information systems and ensure data integrity.
Carry out health surveys and medical research.
Monitor the provision of forensic and medico-legal services.
Requirements
Served in a relevant and comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years.
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
Master’s degree in Neurosurgery or equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
Valid practicing license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
Certificate in computer skills from a recognized institution.
