About the Role
The NAV ERP Manager will own and manage the integrity, performance, and continuous improvement of the Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) process in Microsoft Dynamics NAV across BURN Manufacturing's stove operations. The role combines functional planning expertise with strong NAV technical capability to ensure the ERP system supports effective production planning, material availability, inventory control, and issue resolution.
This position is critical in aligning system capability with business needs across planning, procurement, production, inventory, and operations. The successful candidate will act as both a system process owner for planning in NAV and as the go-to technical support lead for NAV-related operational issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
MPS /MRP Process Ownership in NAV
Lead and manage the end-to-end Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes within Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
Ensure planning parameters in NAV are correctly configured and maintained (lead times, reorder policies, safety stock, lot sizing, replenishment systems, etc.).
Drive system discipline to ensure MPS/MRP outputs are accurate and aligned with business requirements.
Review and optimize planning master data to improve system-generated proposals.
Support monthly, weekly, and daily planning cycles ensuring effective purchase and production recommendations.
Monitor and improve the quality of supply plans, shortages, and excess stock data.
Work with cross-functional teams to translate operational needs into ERP process improvements.
Identify and resolve root causes of MRP instability, such as BOM issues or inventory discrepancies.
NAV Functional and Technical Support
Serve as the primary point of contact for NAV issues affecting supply chain and manufacturing functions.
Troubleshoot and resolve NAV issues raised by users to ensure minimal operational disruption.
Coordinate corrective actions for system errors and data inconsistencies.
Provide hands-on support for NAV functional setup and user guidance.
Liaise with internal IT teams and external consultants for deep technical interventions.
Support system upgrades, patches, and implementation of new technical requirements.
Master Data Governance
Ensure the integrity of master data including Item cards, BOMs, Routings, and SKU classifications.
Develop and enforce governance standards for data creation and change control.
Conduct regular audits of critical data fields impacting planning performance.
ERP Improvement and Process Optimization
Identify opportunities to improve ERP-supported planning and inventory processes.
Drive initiatives to enhance inventory health and system usability.
Partner with business teams to redesign workflows for better ERP effectiveness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting
Align ERP planning logic with actual operational realities across Supply Chain, Production, and Finance.
Train and guide users on proper NAV transaction discipline.
Monitor key performance indicators such as MRP exception levels and stock-out risks.
Prepare management reports on ERP planning performance.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
5–8 years of experience in ERP management, supply chain planning, or manufacturing systems.
Proven experience specifically with Microsoft Dynamics NAV in a manufacturing environment.
Deep understanding of MPS/MRP logic, production orders, BOMs, and routings.
Ability to investigate and resolve NAV issues at both functional and basic technical levels.
ERP or Microsoft Dynamics certification is a distinct advantage.
Strong Excel and reporting skills; knowledge of SQL or NAV development is an added advantage.
Experience supporting UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and change implementation.
