GA Insurance Ltd is seeking a Motor Claims Manager to oversee the end-to-end motor claims process. The role involves managing a team of claims assessors to ensure efficient, fair, and standard-compliant processing of claims. The successful candidate will implement best practices for thorough settlements, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and drive customer satisfaction through effective claims resolution.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Claims Coordination: Maintain expeditious and efficient processing of motor claims to meet customer needs promptly.
Stakeholder Management: Liaise with branch staff and external stakeholders to resolve and ensure settlement of claims.
Authorization: Review, assess, and authorize motor claims within company guidelines.
Data Analysis: Analyze claims data to identify issues related to underwriting policies, reinsurance, and product pricing; communicate findings to stakeholders.
Performance Measurement: Evaluate the performance of strategic customer relationships and communications.
Policy Compliance: Ensure all claims fall within the scope of respective insurance policies.
Reporting: Compile monthly claims statistics, prepare periodical management reports, and present trends to senior management.
Service Provider Management: Identify, appoint, and maintain efficient service providers.
Operational Oversight: Formulate and oversee claims management practices, procedures, and best practices for handling.
Risk Mitigation: Liaise with the underwriting department to mitigate losses and work with the audit team to resolve identified issues.
Leadership: Train, mentor, and lead the claims team to enhance skills and improve overall performance.
Fraud Prevention: Analyze data to identify trends and reduce fraudulent claims.
Customer Service: Address inquiries and resolve complaints related to motor claims.
Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications
Education: A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, or a related field; and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Certification: Professional qualification in AIIK, ACII, or an equivalent.
Experience: At least 10 years of experience, with 5 years specifically in management or similar roles within the insurance industry.
Technical and Behavioral Competencies
Strong understanding of insurance industry concepts, practices, products, and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in claims process management and underwriting procedures.
Conversant with laws applicable to the industry and emerging trends.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and professional standards.
Excellent report writing, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Results-driven, collaborative team player with strong delegation and mentorship skills.
Agile mindset with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
