The County Government of Lamu is seeking to recruit a Member of the County Public Service Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective service delivery within Lamu County. This role involves promoting public service values, maintaining good corporate governance, and advising on appointments to urban area boards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assisting in the preparation of regular reports for submission to the County Assembly on the execution of the functions of the Board.
Observing good corporate governance principles in the performance of duties by public officers in the County.
Ensuring that quality services are delivered to the citizenry of Lamu County.
Promoting Public Service Values and Principles in the County Government as referred to in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
Advising on the appointment of persons to hold Boards of Urban Areas within the County and confirming their appointments.
Performing any other duties as assigned by the Chairperson.
Requirements for Appointment
Be a Kenyan Citizen.
Be in possession of a minimum academic qualification of a Bachelor’s degree from a University recognized in Kenya.
Have knowledge and experience of not less than five (5) years of service.
Demonstrate professional competence and managerial capabilities and a clear understanding of the legislation, policy framework governing the County Public Service, national goals, values, and principles of governance.
Must not be a State or Public Officer.
Be a professional who demonstrates the absence of breach of the relevant professional code of conduct.
Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.
