The Medical Specialist I - Anaesthesiologist is responsible for providing specialized clinical care, focusing on the administration of anaesthesia and management of patients undergoing surgical procedures. The role also involves broader medical duties including general diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients within Narok County's health facilities.
Responsibilities
Undertake general diagnosis, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients.
Carry out specialized clinical care and provide psycho-social interventions.
Provide clinical services to patients, including performing surgeries and consulting in various health facilities.
Carry out forensic and medico-legal services.
Coordinate disease surveillance, prevention, and control.
Coordinate health education and promotion activities.
Implement and monitor health projects and programmes.
Maintain up-to-date health information systems and analyze medical reports.
Undertake health research and monitor the provision of health treatment and care.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must have served in the grade of Assistant Director, Medical Services/Medical Specialist II (or equivalent) in the public or private sector for at least three (3) years.
A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) degree from a recognized institution.
A Master of Medicine degree in Anaesthesiology (or other recognized disciplines such as General Surgery, OBGYN, Psychiatry, and Radiology) from a KMPDC-recognized institution.
Valid Certificate of Registration and a current practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
A Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme (lasting not less than 6 weeks) is an added advantage.
Proficiency in computer applications is considered an added advantage.
