Role Overview
An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer to provide essential medical services within Narok County. The role involves a broad range of clinical duties including diagnosis, treatment, and surgical intervention, as well as administrative tasks related to health information and medical supply management. This recruitment is for 20 positions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Diagnosing, caring for, and treating various diseases.
Performing both medical and surgical procedures.
Preparing for and responding to medical emergencies and disasters.
Participating in the management of medicines, medical instruments, and equipment.
Providing health education to patients and the community.
Maintaining accurate medical records, health information, and data.
Counseling patients and their relatives regarding diagnoses and bereavement.
Teaching and coaching medical students, nursing students, and clinical officer interns.
Preparing requisite documents for professional registration.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B; Ch.B.) degree from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
Successfully completed one (1) year Internship from a recognized institution.
A Registration certificate from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
A valid practicing licence from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
A Certificate in computer application skills (considered an added advantage).
