Job Description
Equity Afia is a group of qualified and experienced doctors who have come together as a network of medical entrepreneurs with the aim of providing high quality, affordable and accessible healthcare to the majority of Kenyans. The Medical Officer will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care, making informed medical decisions, and managing patient care within the facility.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical decision-making and patient management skills.
Ensure adherence to the laws of Kenya, regulations, guidelines, and health schemes.
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting procedures.
Use Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) for clinical data management.
Provide effective communication and interpersonal interaction with staff, patients, and other stakeholders.
Write high-quality medical reports.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery from a recognized university (MBChB or MBBS).
Registered and with a valid license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
At least one (1) year internship experience in either a public or private hospital.
Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Knowledge of healthcare policies, documentation, and reporting procedures.
Proficiency in computer skills (especially Health Management Information Systems).
Desirable Competencies
Strong clinical decision-making and patient management skills.
Knowledge of the laws of Kenya, regulations, guidelines, and health schemes.
Good report writing skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with staff, patients, and other stakeholders.
