Job Description
Equity Afia is a group of qualified and experienced doctors who have come together as a network of medical entrepreneurs with the aim of providing high-quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare to the majority of Kenyans. We are seeking a dedicated Medical Officer to join our team at the Equity Afia Medical Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical care, managing patient outcomes, and ensuring adherence to medical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical consultations and perform physical examinations to diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient medical records using Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).
Ensure compliance with healthcare policies, clinical guidelines, and Kenyan healthcare regulations.
Manage patient treatment plans and make critical clinical decisions to ensure quality care.
Prepare and submit clinical reports as required by management.
Interact professionally with staff, patients, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from a recognized university (MBChB or MBBS).
Valid registration and practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
At least one (1) year of internship experience in either a public or private hospital setting.
Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Proficiency in computer skills, with specific experience in Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).
Strong knowledge of Kenyan healthcare laws, regulations, and health schemes.
Competencies
Strong clinical decision-making and patient management skills.
Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
