Medical Officer

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing, caring for, and treating various diseases.
• Performing medical and surgical procedures as required.
• Preparing and responding to emergencies and disasters.
• Participating in the management and oversight of medicines, medical instruments, and equipment.
• Providing health education to patients and the community.
• Maintaining accurate medical records, health information, and data.
• Counseling patients and their relatives regarding diagnoses and bereavement.
• Teaching and coaching medical students, nursing students, and clinical officer interns.
• Preparing requisite documents for professional registration.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
• Successful completion of a one (1) year internship from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
• Proficiency in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
• Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the values and principles outlined in Article 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
• Satisfaction of the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
