Job Description
Role Overview
The Medical Officer provides comprehensive medical care including diagnosis, treatment, and management of patient conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The role is critical in ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes and maintaining patient safety across all care touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
Consultations & Examinations: Conduct thorough medical consultations and detailed clinical examinations to assess patient health status.
Diagnosis & Treatment: Accurately diagnose illnesses and prescribe appropriate medical treatments or interventions based on clinical findings.
Inpatient Care: Conduct daily ward rounds to monitor patient progress and ensure continuity of care within the inpatient setting.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential medical records for all patients.
Quality & Audits: Actively participate in clinical audits and quality improvement programs to enhance healthcare delivery standards.
Requirements
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Must be validly licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
A minimum of 2 years post-internship experience in a busy clinical environment.
