Job Description
This is the entry and training grade for the medical engineering cadre. An officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of a senior officer to ensure the functionality and safety of medical equipment within county health facilities. The role involves technical maintenance, inventory management, and participation in health service data management.
Responsibilities
Undertake preventive maintenance and repairs of medical/hospital equipment, plants, instruments, and furniture.
Requisition for spare parts and consumables required for medical equipment maintenance.
Maintain an accurate inventory of medical/hospital equipment, furniture, and plants.
Collect data and information for research purposes.
Collect information on medical engineering services for entry into the Integrated Health Information Management System.
Perform minor repairs of health facilities and general utilities.
Assist in the implementation of medical engineering programs and projects.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
Diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology from a recognized institution.
A registration certificate from the Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority.
A valid practicing licence from the Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority.
A Certificate in computer application skills will be considered an added advantage.
