Media Consultant (National) Communication, Advocacy and Partnerships Section

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive media communication strategies.
• Write and edit high-quality press releases, articles, feature stories, and media briefs for both traditional and electronic media.
• Research, analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information to support advocacy efforts.
• Maintain and expand media contacts and networks.
• Work collaboratively with UNICEF teams to align communications with ongoing programs.
• Foster harmonious working relationships in a multicultural environment.

Requirements

Education

• A Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Media, Communications, Development Studies, or related fields is required.

Work Experience

• At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in communication, print, broadcast, and online media.
• Proven experience covering children’s issues for a child rights organization (experience with UNICEF is highly desirable).

Language Requirements

• Fluency in oral and written English and Kiswahili.

Knowledge and Skills

• Proven track record in media strategy development.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills.
• Ability to research and synthesize complex information.
• Solid network of active media contacts.
