The Marketing Manager role is crucial for developing and implementing the marketing strategy for Lean Energy Kenya, focusing on B2B, industrial, and institutional markets. This position requires strong expertise in brand management, lead generation, digital content, and corporate communications, specifically within the energy, engineering, or related B2B sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Brand Management
- Develop and implement the overall marketing strategy aligned with Lean Energy Kenya’s business objectives.
- Build and strengthen the company brand across B2B, industrial, and institutional markets.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all marketing channels and materials.
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
Lead Generation & Business Support
- Design and execute lead generation campaigns to support sales and business development teams.
- Work closely with sales and technical teams to develop sector-specific marketing campaigns.
- Support tender marketing, proposals, and capability statements where required.
- Track marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) and support conversion to sales opportunities.
Digital & Content Marketing
- Manage digital marketing activities including website content, SEO, email marketing, and social media.
- Develop technical and commercial content such as case studies, brochures, presentations, and thought leadership articles.
- Oversee external agencies for digital marketing, design, and media buying where applicable.
- Monitor and report on digital performance metrics and ROI.
Corporate Communications & PR
- Manage corporate communications, announcements, and public relations initiatives.
- Coordinate participation in industry events, exhibitions, conferences, and stakeholder forums.
- Support internal communications and employer branding initiatives.
- Maintain relationships with the media, industry bodies, and strategic partners.
Marketing Operations, Budget & Reporting
- Develop and manage the marketing budget and ensure cost-effective execution.
- Track marketing KPIs and prepare regular performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and brand guidelines.
- Continuously improve marketing processes and tools to enhance efficiency and impact.
Requirements & Qualifications
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- A postgraduate qualification or professional marketing certification is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–6 years marketing experience, preferably in energy, engineering, industrial, utilities, or B2B sectors.
- Proven experience developing and executing marketing strategies that support revenue growth.
- Experience working closely with sales and technical teams.
- Exposure to tender-driven or project-based environments is an added advantage.
- Experience in the Kenyan or East African market is highly desirable.
