As the Marketing & Communications Manager, you will be responsible for leading the marketing strategy and brand management for a client in the water and environmental technology sector. Headquartered in the Netherlands, WTS Energy is a leading outsourcing and workforce management company. This role is ideal for a strategic communicator who can translate complex technical engineering data into engaging narratives for diverse audiences, including government officials and international donors.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Brand Management
- Develop and execute marketing strategies aligned with growth objectives and the mission.
- Evolve and maintain brand identity across digital, print, and in-person touchpoints.
- Conduct market research on trends, competitor positioning, and opportunities in the environmental tech sector.
- Track and report on marketing KPIs to refine strategy based on performance data.
Content Creation & Thought Leadership
- Produce high-quality technical content including articles, case studies, white papers, newsletters, and social media posts.
- Translate complex engineering and environmental data into accessible narratives.
- Manage professional social media presence on LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and Instagram.
- Maintain and optimize the company website for search and user engagement.
Proposal Writing & Business Development Support
- Lead the production of client proposals, technical bids, and tender submissions in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Develop pitch decks, capability statements, and presentation materials for clients and investors.
- Maintain a library of reusable proposal components (case studies, technical descriptions).
- Support the CEO in preparing materials for strategic stakeholder engagements.
Fundraising & Grant Communications
- Assist in identifying and applying for grants, green bonds, and impact investment opportunities.
- Draft compelling funding applications and impact reports.
- Build relationships with foundations, development finance institutions, and sustainability funding bodies.
Client & Partner Engagement
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
- Support client relationship management with polished communication.
- Coordinate joint communications with partners, government agencies, and environmental consultants.
Requirements
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Environmental Studies, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4–7 years of B2B marketing or communications experience.
- Experience in the environmental, sustainability, engineering, infrastructure, or green-tech sectors is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrable experience writing winning proposals, bids, or grant applications in a technical or scientific context.
- Strong technical curiosity and ability to understand complex engineering solutions.
- Proficiency in social media management, content creation tools, and website CMS platforms.
- Experience with design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite) is an added advantage.
- Exceptional written English with the ability to adapt voice for various audiences.
