Job Description
WTS Energy is seeking a Marketing and Communications Officer to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with growth objectives and mission. This role involves owning the brand identity across digital, print, and in-person channels, particularly within the environmental technology sector. The successful candidate will translate complex sustainability and engineering concepts into engaging narratives and lead the production of high-stakes technical proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Branding: Develop and execute marketing strategies, owning brand identity across all channels.
Market Intelligence: Conduct market research on industry trends and competitor positioning in environmental tech; track KPIs to measure effectiveness.
Content Creation: Produce technically informed content, including articles, case studies, white papers, and newsletters.
Digital Presence: Oversee social media and website content, optimizing for engagement and SEO.
Bids & Proposals: Lead the preparation of technical bids, tender submissions, and maintain a proposal library.
Business Development Support: Create pitch decks and capability statements for investor relations and senior leadership.
Funding & Grants: Identify and apply for grants, green bonds, and impact investment opportunities.
Representation & Networking: Represent the company at industry events and maintain relationships with funding bodies and government agencies.
Partnerships: Coordinate joint communications and co-marketing initiatives with environmental consultants and partners.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Environmental Studies, Business, or a related field.
4–7 years of B2B marketing or communications experience.
Strong preference for experience in environmental, sustainability, or green-tech sectors.
Demonstrated technical curiosity and the ability to translate engineering concepts into clear narratives.
Proven expertise in writing successful technical proposals, bids, or grant applications.
Proficiency in social media management, content creation tools, and website CMS.
Exceptional written English skills tailored for technical and donor audiences.
Commercially minded with a results-driven approach.
