Bwasco Water & Sewerage PLC is a public water and sanitation service provider in Bungoma County. The company is seeking a Manager- Technical Services to provide strategic and technical leadership within the Technical Department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality potable water and wastewater services to customers while operating under a service provision agreement with the Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Agency (LVNWWDA).
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic and technical leadership in the Technical Department to ensure provision of high-quality services to customers.
Support engineers in ensuring quality and timely responses to requests, in compliance with standards and procedures.
Steer the development of departmental policies, procedures, and action plans in line with the Company mission and objectives.
Ensure audits are carried out on time and remedial actions are taken.
Oversee the preparation of comprehensive departmental reports and budgets for the Managing Director to facilitate decision-making.
Ensure development of departmental staff through training and motivation.
Ensure water infrastructure is operated and maintained to the required standards.
Advise the Company on the acquisition of capital assets and all technical matters.
Provide technical expertise and advice in the acquisition of contractors and consultants for major works.
Provide overall supervision of major works.
Participate in setting performance targets for technical staff in the Company.
Oversee the planning and coordination of quality, maintenance, and engineering (capacity works) related issues.
Ensure high-quality potable water is provided to customers.
Entry Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water/Wastewater Engineering, or a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Must be a Registered Engineer with a relevant professional body and a member in good standing.
At least 10 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial position.
Completion of the Strategic Leadership Development Program (SLDP) or a relevant qualification from a recognized institution (minimum six weeks).
A Master's degree is an added advantage.
Must be computer literate.
