The Manager, Reconciliations will be responsible for leading the reconciliations team, overseeing various reconciliation portfolios and processes, and managing any complicated breaks, queries, or escalations. The primary objective is to ensure resources are effectively allocated, all entries are matched, and breaks are timeously resolved.
Responsibilities
Manage the reconciliations team and oversee various portfolios and processes.
Manage complicated breaks, queries, or escalations to ensure timely resolution.
Allocate resources effectively to ensure all entries are matched.
Engage with senior-level stakeholders and manage these relationships effectively.
Direct and empower individuals within the team while fostering a collaborative work environment.
Perform root cause analysis on reconciliation discrepancies.
Ensure adherence to banking processes and procedures.
Requirements and Experience
Education: A first degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
Professional Certifications: Must possess professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA.
Experience: 5-7 years of professional experience in reconciliations.
Industry Knowledge: Intermediate knowledge of payment systems and settlements (deals, trade transactions).
Technical Expertise: Relevant reconciliation experience within IPSS and a thorough understanding of systems and processes related to reconciliations.
Leadership: Proven experience in leading and directing teams.
Advantageous Skills: Knowledge of Machine learning, SQL, Python, and the use of Large Language Models (LLMs) is an added advantage.
