Manager, Internal Audit-CRV3

The Internal Audit Manager will provide independent assurance on governance, risk management, and internal controls to ensure the Agency complies with statutory regulations and internal policies and procedures. This role involves overseeing the entire audit function, from policy development to execution and monitoring of recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development, implementation, and review of audit policies, strategies, standards, and guidelines.
• Provide independent assurance on risk management processes regarding both design and operation.
• Spearhead audit assignments in line with the approved audit work plan.
• Oversee compliance of accountable records and documents and prepare audit papers.
• Monitor and evaluate the progress and effectiveness of actions taken to implement audit recommendations from internal and external audits.
• Coordinate monitoring and reporting on the Agency's overall risk profile.
• Lead information systems audit engagements, including testing and evaluation of programs and quality assurance.
• Safeguard Agency assets by establishing appropriate means of verifying existence, ownership, and valuation.
• Spearhead the review and evaluation of internal audit control systems and propose improvements.
• Verify data on periodical financial returns, estimates, and expenditure.
• Facilitate the management of investigations by monitoring and tracking the progress of cases.
• Support various divisions in risk profiling and facilitate research on emerging auditing technologies.
• Initiate special audits and investigations and ensure follow-up mechanisms are implemented.

Requirements

• Cumulative service period of fifteen (15) years’ work experience, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory role or comparable position.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Finance and Accounting option) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Accounting/Finance Option) or equivalent qualification.
• Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) or its equivalent.
• Registered member of ICPAK and/or CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) OR a member of the IIA/ISPAK and in good standing.
• Completion of a Leadership course from a recognized institution.
• Demonstrated managerial, administrative, and professional competence in work performance.
• Proficiency in computer applications and a thorough understanding of national goals and Agency mandate.
