Peoplelink Consultants Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the operational readiness of machines and equipment. The role involves performing routine and preventative maintenance, diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues, and executing repairs to minimize production downtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Maintenance Tasks: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues with machinery.
Repair & Replacement: Repair or replace faulty parts promptly to ensure minimal downtime in production.
Optimization: Monitor and adjust machine settings to optimize overall efficiency and safety.
Equipment Setup: Assist in the installation and setup of new machines and technical equipment.
Systems Repair: Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including parts used and labor hours.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Workspace Management: Keep work areas organized and ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition.
Inter-departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to identify and address broader operational issues.
Protocol Adherence: Follow machine-specific procedures and maintenance schedules as directed by management.
Requirements
Education: Possess a Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering. (The role also accepts BA/BSc/HND qualifications).
Experience: Previous experience in machine maintenance or a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Analytical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Diagnostic Skills: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address complex machinery issues.
Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety practices and adherence to safety standards.
Teamwork: Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or on-call if needed.
