University of Kabianga is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Maintenance Officer (Buildings). The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing building maintenance, reading and interpreting construction drawings, preparing cost estimates, and supervising capital projects to ensure quality workmanship and service delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities
Read and interpret drawings for works.
Carry out costing and quantity estimation of works and equipment.
Coordinate maintenance works and equipment.
Coordinate staff under supervision to perform assigned tasks.
Coordinate work schedules.
Supervise construction works on capital projects.
Advise on technical matters in relation to construction projects.
Ensure delivery of quality services and workmanship.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements for Direct Appointment
Bachelor’s degree in Building and Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution plus at least five (5) years relevant work experience with at least three years at a level of Assistant Maintenance Officer Grade 9/10; OR
Higher National Diploma (KNEC) in Building and Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution with 8 years’ experience in the relevant field.
Must be computer literate.
