The Machine Attendant is responsible for supporting the efficient operation of knitting machines. This role involves setting up machines, ensuring a steady supply of yarn, maintaining cleanliness, and reporting any issues promptly to minimize production delays. The attendant also plays a critical role in quality control by monitoring the dimensions and designs of produced items.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Feeding: Feed yarn into machines as required to maintain continuous production flow.
Quality Monitoring: Ensure the quality of products (such as socks) by regularly measuring stretch and sizes, and verifying that colors and designs match specifications.
Workstation Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and safety standards around assigned machines and work areas.
Documentation: Record basic production data accurately, including filling in tags and preparing handover reports for the next shift.
Team Support: Collaborate with machine operators to help meet daily production targets.
Job Requirements
Educational Background: BA/BSc/HND qualification as specified.
Essential Skills: Basic numeracy and literacy skills are required for data recording and following instructions.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long durations in a production environment.
