The Loss Control Officer is responsible for enforcing security policies, procedures, and regulations to secure company property and ensure the safety of employees and business partners. The role involves vigilant monitoring of staff and customer activities, overseeing security personnel, and ensuring all goods movement is properly documented and authorized.
Key Responsibilities
Surveillance and Monitoring: Maintain vigilant observation of staff movement, customer activity, and company property to prevent unauthorized actions or loss. Monitor surveillance feeds and provide recorded footage ("flashbacks") for review as requested by management.
Access Control: Lead and support contracted security personnel in managing visitor access to the offices and showroom. Monitor entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized removal of company assets or property.
Asset Protection: Enforce established security protocols to safeguard all company assets and minimize the risk of theft or damage. Conduct routine checks of bags, packages, and vehicles as per company policy.
Verification and Reconciliation: Inspect all outbound goods to ensure they are accurately charged, authorized, and supported by correct documentation. Reconcile physical gate passes against supporting documents and physically verify all returned goods.
Loss Prevention: Observe customer and employee behaviors for suspicious activities that may indicate theft or fraud. Participate in inventory control measures to minimize shrinkage and provide a visible security presence to deter potential dishonest acts.
Reporting and Investigations: Report any observed or suspected loss incidents to the supervising Security Officer immediately. Assist in documenting and preparing reports on loss incidents and support security officers in investigations related to theft or fraud.
General Duties: Help implement loss prevention policies and perform any other duties assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of a Diploma in a relevant security-related field from a recognized institution of higher learning.
A valid certificate of good conduct.
At least 1 year of relevant experience in security or loss control.
