Job Description
TakaTaka Solutions is a waste management and recycling company that collects waste and sorts it at proprietary sites, recycling 95% of it. This role is focused on managing fleet operations, ensuring timely waste collection, and overseeing vehicle maintenance.
Role Overview
The Logistics Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of collection vehicles, tracking their movements in real-time, and ensuring all clients are served as scheduled. You will also manage the administrative side of logistics, including vehicle compliance, workshop logging, and data collection for route optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Management & Collections
Monitor live locations using ControlTech and conduct hour-by-hour spot checks to ensure collections are timely and error-free.
Track daily trips to ensure they commence as scheduled.
Follow up on collections for new and sensitive clients.
Monitor driver communication channels (WhatsApp) to resolve issues swiftly.
Manage geofencing for all clients and generate daily reports on visitation.
Update mileage tracking and vehicle workshop documentation.
Plan recovery trips for missed collections and coordinate with customer care.
Track vehicle compliance (NTSA inspection, speed governor, and insurance) and initiate renewals a month in advance.
Maintenance
Coordinate with the Workshop Supervisor on repair timelines for trucks.
Manage float requests and payments for maintenance.
Maintain workshop logs based on regular truck checks and ad-hoc issues.
Routes Realization
Track staff attendance, routes, and timing.
Visit routes to gather data for optimization and identify efficiency or security issues.
Support drivers at new client locations to ensure successful initial collections.
Investigate and resolve property damage incidents involving company trucks within 7 days.
Logging & Administration
Update collection logs and driver issues on Google Sheets.
Maintain accurate trip logs including times and truck load levels.
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in any business-related field, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
At least one year of proven experience in a logistics administrative role within a similar industrial setting.
Familiarity with logistics software and tracking tools.
