Kenafric Industries Limited, a leading manufacturer of Confectionery, Food, Footwear, and Stationery products in Kenya, is seeking a qualified professional to join its Legal & Compliance Department. The role is centered on safeguarding the company's legal interests, ensuring full regulatory adherence, and managing corporate documentation and contracts within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation & Records: Maintain comprehensive company records and critical documents to ensure accessibility and legal compliance.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company adheres to all relevant regulations and oversee the timely renewal of all operating permits.
Policy Management: Regularly update and review internal policies to align with current legal standards and operational requirements.
Contract Management: Manage the full lifecycle of contracts, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, renewing, and systematic filing.
Intellectual Property: Protect the company's intellectual property assets and handle all matters related to trademark issues.
Legal Support: Support dispute resolution processes and manage legal proceedings; provide necessary documentation and advice to management.
External Liaison: Coordinate with external legal counsel and provide the required support for ongoing cases.
Monitoring & Research: Monitor changes in local and international laws and regulations to ensure the company remains proactive in its compliance efforts.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Law, Diploma in Law, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution.
A minimum of two (2) years of relevant legal and compliance experience.
Experience working within a busy manufacturing or FMCG environment is highly preferred.
Proven track record in reviewing and preparing legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with a practical, solution-oriented approach.
High proficiency in legal research and the analysis of complex legal issues.
Proficient in MS Office applications and other relevant legal management software.
