This contract role requires a dedicated individual to support Java House's legal function by managing crucial legal documentation, ensuring comprehensive regulatory and statutory compliance, and mitigating legal risks across all business operations.
Key Responsibilities
The Legal Associate will undertake the following duties:
Drafting and reviewing legal documents including contracts, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), and property acquisition documents.
Performing legal research and providing advisories on new developments in the law.
Performing administrative duties and managing legal documents, including filing systems.
Assisting in intellectual property matters such as registrations, renewals, and dispute resolution.
Assist in conducting legal and statutory compliance of the business.
Assist in due diligence processes.
Maintain and update the lease portfolio schedule.
Sitting in staff-related disciplinary hearings and advising management on appropriate action to be taken while mitigating risks related to employment litigation.
Coordinating and overseeing legal training initiatives to ensure organizational compliance and awareness of legal obligations.
Reviewing legal documents for alignment with operational requirements and the company's strategic objectives.
Supporting the formulation and development of internal policies.
Managing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on legal and compliance matters across various departments and external partners.
Supporting contract lifecycle management including review, negotiation, and renewal tracking.
Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must possess a BA/BSc/HND qualification. Practical experience in legal drafting, compliance enforcement, and corporate advisory is highly desirable.
