Lecturer (Economics and Statistics)

Mama Ngina University College (MNUC) is a student-centered institution that produces innovative, scientifically grounded, and ethical graduates. We offer market-driven degree programmes and maintain state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and research. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Lecturer in Economics and Statistics (REF: MNUC/L/SBEH/BEHR/001/2026) within the School of Business and Economics.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lectures and facilitate learning in Economics and Statistics modules.
• Conduct original academic research and publish findings in refereed journals.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in their academic projects and research work.
• Participate in the development and review of market-driven curricula.
• Engage in conferences, seminars, and workshops to share research findings and stay updated on industry trends.
• Contribute to the administrative and committee functions of the department and college.

Requirements and Qualifications

• PhD: An earned PhD in Economics and Statistics from an accredited and recognized University.
• Master’s Degree: A Master’s degree in Economics and Statistics from an accredited and recognized University.
• Bachelor’s Degree: A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics from an accredited and recognized University.
• Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University level or in research/industry.
• Publications: A minimum of 24 publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal papers.
• Conferences: Show evidence of attendance and contribution at conferences, seminars, or workshops.
• Professional Membership: Current registration by relevant professional statutory bodies and membership in a professional association will be an added advantage.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications.

Terms of Service

• Employment will be on permanent and pensionable terms.
• Remuneration will be as per the Inter-Public University Councils Consultative Forum (IPUCCF) and 2021-2025 CBA approved salary rates.
