Role Overview
Kenyatta University, a leading public university in Kenya, is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to join the Department of Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry as a Lecturer. The successful candidate will play a key role in academic instruction, research, and the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences within the university.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality lectures and facilitate practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
Develop, review, and update academic curricula to reflect current industry trends and academic standards.
Conduct original research in relevant areas of specialization and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other administrative duties as required by the university.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must possess a Masters degree in a relevant area of specialization from a recognized University.
At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University level, or equivalent experience in Research or Industry.
Candidates with four (4) years of teaching experience in a tertiary institution will also be considered.
A PhD degree in a relevant area of specialization is highly desirable and will be considered an added advantage.
