Kenyatta University is seeking a qualified individual to join the Department of Fine Art and Design as a Lecturer. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, conducting research, and mentoring students within their area of specialization. This role requires an individual with a strong academic background and relevant industry or teaching experience to contribute to the university's academic excellence.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality lectures and practical sessions in Fine Art and Design subjects.
Conduct original research and publish findings in reputable academic journals.
Develop and update course curricula to maintain academic standards and industry relevance.
Supervise and mentor students in their academic and creative projects.
Participate in departmental meetings, university committees, and administrative tasks.
Assess and grade student performance through examinations and coursework.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: A Master’s degree in a relevant area of specialization from a recognized University.
Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University level, in Research, or within the Industry.
Alternative Experience: Candidates with four (4) years of teaching experience in a tertiary institution will also be considered.
Added Advantage: A PhD degree in a relevant area of specialization is highly desirable.
