Job Description
Kenyatta University is a leading multi-campus public university in Kenya. The institution is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Lecturer within the Department of Econometrics and Statistics. This role is central to the university's mission of providing quality education and fostering research excellence.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake teaching duties, conduct research, and provide academic leadership within the department. The role involves mentoring students and contributing to the academic growth of the university across its various campuses.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and instructing students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the fields of Econometrics and Statistics.
Conducting high-impact research and contributing to the university's academic publications.
Supervising student projects and research work.
Participating in curriculum development and review.
Engaging in departmental administrative tasks and university committees as assigned.
Providing mentorship and academic guidance to students.
Required Qualifications and Experience
A Master’s degree in a relevant area of specialization from a recognized University.
At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University level, or equivalent experience in Research or Industry.
Candidates with four (4) years of teaching experience in a tertiary institution will also be considered.
A PhD degree in a relevant area of specialization is not mandatory but will be considered a significant added advantage.
