Kenyatta University, a leading multi-campus public university in Kenya, is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to join the Department of Animal Science as a Lecturer. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality academic instruction, engaging in impactful research, and contributing to the administrative and developmental goals of the department.
Responsibilities
Delivery of lectures and practical sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Department of Animal Science.
Conducting original research and contributing to the university's academic output through publications and seminars.
Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
Participation in curriculum development and review to ensure academic programs remain relevant and of high quality.
Undertaking administrative duties within the department and participating in university committees as required.
Providing mentorship and academic advising to students.
Contributing to community outreach and professional service within the field of animal science.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Master’s degree in a relevant area of specialization from a recognized University is mandatory.
Experience:
At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University level, or significant experience in Research or the Industry.
Alternatively, candidates with four (4) years of teaching experience in a tertiary institution will also be considered.
Advanced Qualifications: A PhD degree in a relevant area of specialization will be considered a significant added advantage.
