The Lead Functional Architect (T24), internally known as the Lead Consultant, is responsible for providing detailed level support and expertise in the Transact Arrangement Architecture (AA) product throughout all stages of TEMENOS implementation projects. This senior role concentrates on resolving complex functional issues while offering guidance and coaching to less experienced Consultants. The Lead Consultant is expected to lead the implementation of specific products in collaboration with clients or partners, handle daily challenges, and own the resolution of issues as they arise. A strong information sharing contribution to the aligned Centre of Excellence and input on Product and Process Improvement is also expected.
Key Responsibilities and Opportunities
- Focus on resolving complex functional problems, generally operating without day-to-day supervision or direction.
- Provide expert guidance and advice to less experienced consultants on complex functional issues during implementation and client relationship development.
- Demonstrate strong Stakeholder Management Skills with all contacts.
- Successfully implement the respective Transact AA product modules.
- Take a lead role in ensuring that the contribution of other team members adds value to the project.
- Coordinate closely with the TEMENOS maintenance groups to ensure identified product problems are understood and promptly resolved.
- Specialize in both Retail and Corporate banking functionalities, including specific knowledge of the following modules:
- AA Account
- AA Lending
- AA Deposit
- Handle business analysis workshops related to Arrangement Architecture (AA) module streams, covering product configuration, out-of-the-box functionalities/workflow, and identifying bank-specific gaps.
- Analyze client business requirements and accurately map them to TEMENOS product capabilities.
- Identify and validate any functional gaps along with proposals for their resolution (e.g., workarounds or changes in processes), ensuring all proposed solutions are realistic and adhere to the agreed project scope.
- Define and validate customization needs for TEMENOS products based on agreed business definitions.
- Write detailed functional specifications, when necessary, for local development and ensure Technical Consultants clearly understand these specifications.
- Prepare and execute the configuration of TEMENOS products by defining static and semi-static data for the installation of the core system.
- Prepare and carry out functional testing to support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Review the client's organization, processes, and workflows, proposing a 'post-picture' design to maximize the benefit derived from TEMENOS’ products.
- Make recommendations on best banking practices to the Project Manager and alert him/her to practices that may negatively impact the client’s business or contradict legal requirements, before client recognition.
- Conduct parts or all of the User training, which includes designing, customizing, and updating Training Materials and Handouts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a professional in Finance or in banking software consultancy.
- BA/BSc/HND qualification.
- Fluent proficiency in English (verbal and written). Additional language skills are beneficial.
- Good understanding of financial and banking processes across domains such as Payments, Credits, Accounting, Treasury, MI, Asset Management, Securities, Private Wealth Management, Trade Finance, Retail and Corporate Banking.
- IT oriented: knowledge of banking software applications and excellent proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and other MS Office suite applications.
- Expert knowledge of the Temenos Transact AA product is mandatory.
- Strong awareness of industry and market developments.
- Full understanding and ability to deploy the TEMENOS Implementation Methodology.
Note on Travel: The role requires substantial travel, typically requiring the consultant to be on the client site Monday to Friday and return home on weekends. However, there may be periods requiring extended time away, with Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) provided for compensation.
