Job Description
Reporting to the Laboratory Services Manager, the Laboratory Technologist – Mobile is responsible for sample collection and testing from the comfort of clients/patients' locations per the standard operating procedures. The role involves mobile service delivery, requiring the ability to travel to various locations via motorcycle to provide diagnostic services while ensuring high standards of laboratory practice and customer care.
Key Responsibilities
Sample Collection & Processing: Collect and process client samples at their preferred locations (Home or Office) following set safety protocols.
Communication of Results: Effectively communicate laboratory results to patients and relevant medical staff.
Reporting: Prepare detailed laboratory reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Service Growth: Drive the uptake of wellness checks and grow the home/office collection service line to meet set targets.
Revenue Generation: Actively contribute to driving laboratory revenue through efficient mobile service delivery.
Quality Compliance: Implement and adhere to ISO 15189:2022 guidelines to maintain high standards of laboratory quality.
Product Delivery: Manage the delivery of pharmaceutical products to clients as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science.
Certification: Must possess a valid registration certificate from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologist Board (KMLTTB).
Mobility: Demonstrated capability of riding motorcycles with a valid riding license (essential for the mobile nature of the role).
Experience: At least two (2) years of appropriate experience in medical laboratory functions.
Standards Knowledge: Experience in the implementation of the ISO 15189 standard is considered an added advantage.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ICT and laboratory information systems.
Soft Skills: Excellent customer service skills, self-motivation, a team-player attitude, and a pleasant personality.
