Job Description
The National Quality Control Laboratory (NQCL) is seeking to recruit two Laboratory Technologists I for Quality Control and Instrumentation Checks. An officer at this level will work under the supervision of a senior officer to ensure the quality control of medicines on behalf of the government.
Duties and Responsibilities
Participating in sorting HPTs and storing them appropriately as per the manufacturer temperature requirements.
Implementing work protocols and operating procedures applicable to their activities.
Implementing Biosafety biosecurity framework.
Undertaking analytical waste disinfection and disposal.
Labeling of reagents, chemicals, and equipment.
Implementing the Laboratory’s Quality Management System and cleaning protocols.
Assisting in carrying out specialized cleaning procedures.
Implementing section plans and work plans.
Checking the stock outs of the reagent on the bench site.
Ensuring the chemical reagents are stored in their respective cabinets.
Managing of glassware in the Laboratory.
Ensuring on-site availability of equipment SOPs.
Assisting in carrying out physical stock takes for laboratory inventory.
Participating in surveys including Post-market Surveillances of HPTs.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
A cumulative service period of six (6) years, three (3) of which should have been in the grade of Laboratory Technologist II or in a comparable position.
A Diploma in Industrial Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
