Job Description
Equity Afia is a network of medical entrepreneurs providing high-quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare to Kenyans. We are seeking a Laboratory Technologist who will be responsible for performing complex diagnostic tests and analyses on clinical specimens to assist in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases while adhering to strict laboratory protocols and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform complex diagnostic tests and analyses on clinical specimens.
Assist in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases through accurate lab results.
Ensure strict adherence to laboratory protocols and quality standards.
Implement and monitor Laboratory Quality Management Systems (QMS) initiatives.
Utilize Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) for reporting and data management.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and safety.
Requirements and Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory Sciences or a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
At least one year of internship or professional working experience in a similar role.
Must be registered and hold a valid practicing license from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
Trained and demonstrated understanding of Laboratory Quality Management Systems (QMS) initiatives.
Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
