Role Overview
AAR Healthcare is one of the largest providers of outpatient healthcare services in East Africa, with a network of 21 clinics across Kenya. Reporting to the Laboratory in-Charge, the Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for performing laboratory-based scientific medical investigations to provide accurate laboratory diagnoses. The role ensures that all clinical tests are conducted with high precision to support patient care and clinical decisions using state-of-the-art information technology systems.
Key Responsibilities
Sample Management: Handle the registration, collection, and processing of client samples within the limits of specific diagnostic tests.
Result Communication: Efficiently communicate laboratory results to both internal medical teams and external customers.
Quality Standards: Maintain high standards of quality laboratory practice by utilizing proper reagents, ensuring machines are well-calibrated, and maintaining a clean working environment.
Resource Management: Observe and ensure the efficient usage of reagents, glassware, and laboratory equipment.
Reporting: Responsible for the accurate preparation of laboratory reports.
Quality Control: Participate in internal quality control (QC) programs and ensure all activities are logged in the appropriate registers.
Position Requirements
Education: A diploma in Medical Laboratory Science.
Certification: Must possess a valid registration certificate from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologist Board (KMLTTB).
Experience: At least two (2) years of appropriate experience in medical laboratory functions.
ICT Skills: Proficiency in Information Communication Technology (ICT).
Soft Skills: Excellent customer service skills, self-motivated, a team player, and a pleasant personality.
