Job Description
Role Overview
This is a middle-level position (REF: PU/ADV/09/05/2026) within the Laboratory Technician cadre at Pwani University. The successful candidate will support laboratory operations within the Microbiology and Parasitology departments. Appointment terms and conditions are determined by the University Council and are subject to Kenyan Labour Laws.
Academic Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology and Parasitology or an equivalent qualification (e.g., Laboratory Sciences or Biotechnology) from a recognized institution.
Experience and Requirements
Registration or membership with relevant professional bodies.
Must have at least two (2) years of relevant work experience.
Previous experience working in a higher institution of learning is considered an added advantage.
Demonstrated involvement in community activities (e.g., serving as a member of a Board of Governors or School Management Committee).
