Kenyatta University is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Manager for the Kenyatta University Funeral Home (KUFH). The Manager acts as the Principal Assistant to the Director and is responsible for the overall supervision of staff and the operational excellence of the facility. The role involves maintaining high service standards, managing quality systems, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance revenue and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the Principal Assistant to the Director.
Assist in the supervision of staff to ensure effective teamwork in achieving set goals and objectives.
Maintain a conducive environment for mourners by ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness at the Funeral Home.
Coordinate the Directorate’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) team.
Provide exceptional service to clients, including offering professional advice and resolving disputes for bereaved families.
Assist in formulating strategic directions aligned with the University’s strategic plan and support initiatives to increase revenue streams and income.
Assist in setting comprehensive annual performance targets for staff and identifying skills gaps for training.
Ensure continuous re-engineering of business processes within the Directorate based on market trends to achieve customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Experience
A cumulative period of at least five (5) years of supervision or management work experience specifically within a Funeral Home environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field from a recognized University.
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Public Policy and Administration, or a related discipline from a recognized University.
Certificate in Computer applications (Microsoft Office).
Any training in emerging issues within the Funeral Service Industry will be an added advantage.
Must be conversant with Quality Management Systems (QMS) matters.
Demonstrated outstanding managerial and professional competence as reflected in work performance within the Funeral Service Industry.
